About Bâ tir

Our Process

While no two projects are the same, there are several key milestones on the way to project completion:

DETERMINING YOUR NEEDS

(First Meeting)

Arriving at a realistic budget early in the planning process will help ensure the timely, successful completion of your custom home. During your initial, no-cost consultation with Bâ tir, an approximate estimate will be developed based on your specific needs (i.e. number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms, level of finishes etc...). No plans are required at this phase.

SELECTING YOUR PROPERTY

(Before Design Phase)

Much of the design and planning process hinges on the unique characteristics of the property being developed. If you are new to the area and need to find land, Bâtir can help with your selection process.

DEVELOPING YOUR DESIGN

(Varies by Method)

Whether you purchase existing plans, develop your own, or hire a professional designer, your project will realize many benefits by involving a contractor during the design process. At Bâ tir all designs undergo a quality control and value engineering process.

COMPLETING YOUR DESIGN

(Two or More Meetings)

During this discovery phase, which typically requires two or more meetings, Bâ tir works closely with you to address design details and determine specific finishes and fixtures for your custom home.

METHODS AND MATERIALS AGREEMENT

(Final Meeting before Breaking Ground)

At the end of the design and discovery process, Bâ tir will provide you with a written breakdown of the methods and materials to be used during the completion of your custom home - including all costs. This packet also will also include a breakdown of builder and owner responsibilities for the duration of the project. At this point in the process you will have a complete understanding of how and when your project will be completed.

CONSTRUCTION

(Typically Five to Seven Months)

Face-to-face meetings continue as needed during this stage of the project. If you are in-state during the construction phase, many of these meetings will occur on the jobsite. If you are out of state during construction, meetings will take place by phone and will be accompanied by detailed emails, including images, outlining the progress of your home.

POST-CONSTRUCTION

(Ongoing)

Upon project completion, Bâ tir will provide you with a homeowner's manual which will include contact information for subcontractors, manuals for mechanical and electrical equipment and details concerning your home warranty.
